The National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) declared February 15th “National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day” and encourages schools and communities across the nation to recognize the accomplishments of their school resource officers (SROs) that day. SROs are full-time law enforcement officers with sworn law enforcement authority, trained in school-based policing and crisis response and assigned by an employing law enforcement agency to work with schools using community-oriented policing concepts. RSU 39 would like to highlight our SRO’s and his dedication to keeping our schools and students safe. SRO’s bridge the gap between our youth and law enforcement and create lasting, influential relationships with students and staff. Our SRO’s serve as protectors, educators, mentors and law enforcement officers each and every day. Please join us in celebrating our School Resource Officer Kevin St. Peter today.
